I tried to use the NHS App to book an appointment. I kept getting a message stating that there were no available appointments so I did what the app suggested and called the practice. The voicemail instructed that appointments should be booked via the app and gave 2 options for repeat prescriptions (I think) and something else - but no keypad option to book an appointment by phone. When I have managed to get an appointment in the past (18 months ago) I found the consultation to be very good indeed but what good is it if, we cannot book appointments? Are all the doctors sat in the surgery wondering why nobody has booked (I suspect not). The "8 O'clock lottery" referred to by other reviewers below is not an acceptable process - it does not allow for urgency, priority, patients who start work by 8am etc. There needs to be another way to allocate available appointments fairly so everyone has a chance, rather than pitting us against each other in a Hunger Games style.
