"Excellent and compassionate care"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Accidents & Emergency Antrim Area Hospital / Early Pregnancy Unit

(as a service user),

I wanted to express my thanks for the excellent and compassionate care I received when experiencing pregnancy loss in January. I would like to mention Helen (nurse practitioner) and Sinead (HCA) in Antrim area emergency department and Mary in the early pregnancy unit for their empathetic way in which they nursed me through this difficult experience.

Also the trainee gynaecology doctor who assessed me in the ED who delivered bad news in an honest but caring and empathic way. Thank-you.

Dear Coordinationzw44,

My name is Brenda O'Neill, Interim Lead Nurse for Gynae, including Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit in Northern Trust.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I would like to begin by offering condolences on the loss of your baby, and acknowledge not only the physical toll this has on you but the emotional impact for you and your family.

I am pleased to learn that staff took the time to provided much needed care. I cannot speak on behalf of ED, who were excellent and compassionate during your time at hospital, but I will indeed pass on your kind words to Mary.

Wishing you peace and comfort at this time,

Brenda
