"Bypass operation"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Cardiac surgery

(as the patient),

I had a double bypass in November 2024. Prior to my op I would have had a tightness in my chest after walking around half a mile.

Followed this up with my GP and was referred to the royal in Belfast. After this referral I was advised that I needed a bypass op.

Thankfully at no stage did I have a heart attack and my condition was quickly diagnosed. The first 6 weeks after op were difficult with pain management and feeling tired, but thankfully after this I did notice an improvement and week on week after this I could feel myself getting stronger.
