"Letters not delivered in timely fashion"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Outpatients North Devon District Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

I was contacted over a week ago from Rheumatology inviting me to a clinic on 4th April.  This was confirmed by MYCARE.  I attended the clinic and was dealt with efficiently and with kindness.  No complaints whatsoever.

On the 8th April, in the post, I received a letter  dated 31st March, from Rheumatology Therapy Service inviting me to the clinic on 4th April!!  Efficient or what.

I suspect the fault lies with Royal Mail, who seem to have abrogated their responsibilities when it comes to deliveries, but feel you need to know that letters to patients are not being delivered in timely fashion.

Many thanks for your feedback about your experience with our Service. I am sorry the appointment letter didn't arrive until after the appointment date. If you are happy to give your details via our email rduh.rheumatology-northern@nhs.net we can further look into this and investigate whether this can be prevented in the future.
