About: Cancer Services / Haematology/Oncology Day Patient Unit Cancer Services / Radiotherapy Ninewells Hospital / Breast Surgery Plastic Surgery & Burns / Breast Reconstruction Specialist Nurse Service

(as a service user),

I was diagnosed with Triple Positive Breast Cancer in August 24. The Breast clinic were so amazing during this and Julie (breast cancer specialist nurse) was amazing.

I was really scared, I didn't know anything about breast cancer before this. I was worried what would happen to me. I thought there wasn't hope or a future for me, but the staff reassured me that was not the case.

They took the time to explain treatment options that were tailored to me. Everything was done so fast and there were no delays.

I started chemotherapy in October 24 to January 25. In Perth Royal Infirmary. The staff there were amazing. It wasn't an easy treatment, but I felt supported.

I had surgery in March 25 In Perth Royal Infirmary. All the staff were amazing, as I hadn't had surgery before. The surgeons were brilliant and really showed they cared.

In April 25, I started chemotherapy again (I will see the lovely nurses in Perth again), along with radiotherapy in Ninewells.

Throughout my treatment the staff were amazing.

The oncologist always replied to my queries, even if they were small things.

The oncologist (Dr Borgaonkar) and The surgeon (Dr Vinci) really showed they care for you as a patient. It made me feel hopeful and reassured during this horrific time.

I am still getting treatment, but I know I am in safe hands.

I feel lucky being a patient in Tayside.
