I recently underwent a colonoscopy at FVRH. This was my first experience in undergoing such a procedure and was quite nervous.
A young nurse called Amy inserted a canula into my arm and could see how nervous I was. She engaged me in conversation, knowing I had been retired from work for some time and asked what I had worked at.
Before I knew it, we were talking about a number of things including my family, and we chatted about how young people manage in today's society.
By the time I was ready to go for my procedure she said to me good luck, smiled and waved. This young nurse's interpersonal and communication skills were exemplary and Amy should act as a a role model for nurses entering into the nursing profession.
