"Colon cancer care"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Endoscopy Pre Assessment The Ulster Hospital / Surgical Hub

(as the patient),

Having had 2 operations in the last year and a very positive experience of the medical care provided by the collerectal team in the Ulster hospital, I am currently having precautionary chemo. This week I had a pre-assessment call for a colonoscopy and was a little nervous about doing this by phone rather than in person as I had several issues including which prep would be best. My call could not have been more straightforward. I was treated in a sympathetic and friendly way. My concerns were listened to and dealt with effectively and within 2 days I received written confirmation of all we had discussed. I am so grateful for the care and empathy that was extended and totally reassured by the process.

IdaG,

Thank you for taking the time to post this fantastic feedback.

I'm so glad your experience was a positive one.

The pre-assessment service is a relatively new service and it is great to here the positive impact it is having on our service users.

I will share this feedback with the team.

I hope you are keeping well.

Take care.

Jemma Gillespie - Endoscopy Lead Nurse
