"An amazing team"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I recently attended Hairmyres at approximately 6pm as I believed I was having a stroke.

I was taken through immediately and the team on duty were amazing, keeping me informed regarding what they were doing and why.

A nurse came re thrombolysis, fortunately I didn’t need this, she was due to finish at 7 but said she would stay on until my CT scan results came through and she stayed with me for the consultant to do a teams call so she could help me understand.

Thank you all so much for your care and keeping me calm with a little humour.

Dear David472

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive feedback following your suspected stroke. I am pleased to read that staff kept you informed of what was happening and why. It is a worrying time going through tests for new symptoms and the stroke team strive to ensure they deliver optimum care.

I will share your comments with them and the wider team as feedback is always important to ensure constant learning and reflection.

I see that you did not require thrombolysis and hope that you are recovering well from your suspected stroke.

Thank you again for your kind words

Best wishes

Lise
