I was very concerned about a severe headache and weird symptoms affecting my speech. I checked NHS Inform, which advised that I seek advice from a doctor. I called my GP surgery and got an appt for that day. After his assessment, my GP referred me to the Stroke Clinic.
The next day my headache changed and I called NHS24. They advised that I see an optician. I got an appt for the same day, full examination and left with a clean bill of health.
The same day the Stroke Clinic called with a phone appt for the next day. A consultant called and assessed my symptoms, giving me reassurance and advice.
In 3 days I have been assessed by my GP, my optician and a stroke consultant. All staff were helpful, kind and reassuring. The response was prompt and effective. A really excellent service.
