"I had a very reassuring and informative experience"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gynaecology (Ward 49)

(as a service user),

Today at my pre-op assessment in block M at the Queen Elizabeth University hospital for a laparoscopy surgery.

I had a very reassuring and informative experience with all members of staff that met with me. Gillian, Tammy and Alison made me feel so reassured and safe throughout my visit. They answered all my questions, put my mind at ease and listened to me. I didn't feel rushed and I felt that they were all so helpful and reassured me.

As I have been waiting for almost 18 years to understand if I have endometriosis or not, there have been many obstacles in my experience to get to this point.

I can't stress how much I value having this positive experience when I have had times leaving a practice or appointment feeling as though I have not been taken seriously.

I would like to say thank you so much to these members of staff as receiving healthcare can be such a personal and vulnerable experience. They were funny, easy to talk to, knowledgeable and this has given me confidence for the next stage.

Thank you so much for all you do and for doing such a great job.

Dear Annrc96,

Thank you so much for spending the time to offer feedback on your pre operative experience.

Gillian, Tami and Alison will be delighted to hear that they made you feel so reassured and safe throughout my visit. That they also answered all your questions, put your mind at ease and listened to you. I am pleased you did not feel rushed and that the team were all so helpful and reassuring.

I am sorry you have had obstacles to climb regarding a diagnosis of endometriosis but I am thoroughly pleased to hear this was a positive experience.

I will share this with the team and that you also found them funny, easy to talk to, knowledgeable and that this has given you confidence for the next stage.

I wish you well in your future journey.

Kind regards,

Nikki
