"I felt comforted by the staff instantly"

I felt nervous coming to Dame Carol, even though I had heard great things I was naturally afraid of the unknown. 

I cant confidently say that I had not a single thing to worry about, I was greeted at the door by friendly faces and intake was a relaxed feeling, I felt comforted by the staff instantly, reassuring me with all my questions and worries.

I've spent one month here now and I am sad to be leaving, but excited about my now, new future!

I was so surprised when things went well for me personally and my meds where controlled at all times and at how fast I was going with a blind detox, all while attending N.A, AA, and C.A, morning group and 3pm group to talk.

It is not full on and you attend when you feel well enough, no judgement will be put on anyone.

The staff here are nothing short of Angels! 

They've given me the ability to save my life, to take it back and begin my journey of healing and understanding. I cannot say one thing that is not right here, it just works, the smiles, the talks, the laughter, so much laughter without any substances, its possible, Dame Carol showed me so much in one month, I just know I will take these faces with me into my recovery as I head on, and much further.

With work to do I just know with the tools given to me and the care I have received, I can and will stay clean and sober.

Places like this wonderful place, with the nurses, recovery workers, trainee's, chef's, cleaners and all the ppl they surround you with during your detox, or the alone time and understanding you have also of course, this is the change in my life I know I needed, I wish I could say more but I would be here all day.

You will be comfortable no matter how you come through that door!

I know the unknown is scary, but places like this, Dame Carol are the very reason ppl still have their loved one's, they cant save everyone, but if you come and are unsure, just know, you are in the right place to start the process of getting clean and sober with some of the finest humans on earth!

Thank you to all at Dame Carol for the great care and patience you have given me while I did my detox here, I wouldn't know how to put into words how grateful I am for you all, and the place itself!
