I came in for my first birth, hoping for a waterbath. Due to complications, I ended up having an epidural and then a PPH with litres of blood loss. The whole experience, while being different to planned, was very positive - I always felt very well informed, and greatly taken care of.
Massive thanks to my midwives Christie and Maggie, anaesthetist Neil, doctor Grace and Gabriel who took care of me during birth; midwives Christie and Sophie while I was in the HDU; and a special thanks to all staff helping me recover in the postnatal ward as well: especially midwives Rachel (night shift) and midwife in charge (and best swaddler) Annette :)
