For the last 4 weeks of my elderly mother's life we were assigned care from the district nurse team in Cambuslang, Glasgow, and what a true God-send it turned out to be! Three times a day a pair of nurses came to our house where my mum lay bed bound, her condition slowly worsening, to administer personal and medical care. Over the weeks perhaps a dozen or so different nurses attended, each one displaying not only a high level of professionalism, but a degree of compassion that showed they genuinely cared. Their nursing input and emotional support were invaluable at a time when not only my mum, but my brother and I were in greatest need of both. We can't praise them enough for services which went above and beyond the demands of their job, and we will always be grateful and remember them fondly.
"Palliative care for my mum"
