Recently I had to take my 9 month old to A&E at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, with a sore arm. Thinking I was being neurotic but knowing he wasn't himself and was in pain.
We were taken for triage within around 10 mins and had literally just sat down in the waiting area when we were taken back to see the doctor. Both the nurse and doctor clearly knew what the problem was. My little one was given painkillers at triage and the doctor popped his elbow back in place in a matter of seconds. It was like a miracle. Little one was back to himself and playing within minutes but the doctor checked on him 20 mins later before allowing us home. I am not sure I can believe my 9 month old popped his elbow just by turning round and catching his arm .
Receptionists, nurse and doctor were all fantastic. No one ever acted as if I was a neurotic mum and trusted that I knew my son wasn't himself (he wasn't particularly crying). We were in and out of the hospital within the hour. So glad we trusted our instincts and took him. Thank you so much for the amazing help and smiling faces.
