About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / GP Out of Hours

We spoke to Angela on the phone at out of hours where she listened to our concerns about our son who was very poorly throughout the day. Without hesitation Angela said she would see him and gave us advice to manage in the meantime.

When we arrived we felt welcomed and listened to and most importantly you could tell she was a paediatric as she had a fantastic way with our son and got to the cause of what was wrong. We didn’t feel rushed and could tell she enjoyed her job.

When it came to prescribing antibiotics Angela also listened to our past experiences with getting him to take them and she totally understood and gave us tips on how to manage it at home. She even gave him his first dose and lots of praise and encouragement for coming home too.

We are more than happy with the experience and never once felt rushed or an inconvenience, which made such a difference. We cannot thank her enough and are so glad he was started on medicine as she could see how poorly he was. She deserves praise and recognition and is a credit to the hospital.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of your recent interaction with and visit to Out Of Hours (OOH).

I was sorry to hear that your Son was unwell and required you to seek medical support with this. However I am encouraged to hear that you felt listened too and that you were given an appointment promptly to attend OOH. Equally I am happy to hear that your were welcomed on arriving at OOH and that you received high quality care and support from Angela including providing advice on managing he medication at home.

I will share your feedback with Angela and I know she will appreciate and value your comments and be happy that she was able to provide reassurance to you and your Son when he was unwell. I am happy to confirm that Angela does indeed love her job.

I hope and trust that your Son is feeling better and is recovering well.
