"Years of chronic pain topped off with long covid"

About: Talking Therapies North Lincs

(as the patient),

After a minor procedure left me in permanent chronic pain nearly 19 years ago I then contracted covid19 in June 21. I was one of the lucky ones (People told me) who came out if hospital and could carry on my life. For me I felt like my life did end and would (if it weren't for my family) have been quite happy for life to end. Covid takes your life and leaves you with half, it also leaves a lot of people including me with long covid which ensures it can ruin your life and keep trying to knock you down on a daily basis physically and mentally.

Over the last 3.5years I have been on a mental and physical downward spiral, to the point were suicidal thoughts became the norm. Because of the therapy sessions I have learned what is important and and see a new positive outlook on life. My CBT therapist Jess has given me that over the course of a few months. Physically I still struggle but I now have the mental strength to deal with where I am and what is important by changing negative thinking into a more positive thinking. I know I will still have some down days but I am sure these will now be less than good days.
