"The consistency led to a good experience"

About: Community Services - (OPMH) / Doncaster Young Onset Dementia Service

(as a carer),

We had a 6 monthly young onset dementia review, my husband will soon be in his 10th year of young onset dementia.

The visits were carried out by Karen, she has known my husband and myself for many years, so this consistency led to a good experience.

Dementia has taken away my husband's speech pattern but because Karen is familiar with my husband's reactions and body language and he remember hers, communication was successful.

It is vital we have Karen for our dementia review meetings to enable my husbands needs to be met in a person centred and caring way.

Thank you for your kind words, I know Karen will appreciate them. I am happy you are pleased with the service we provide and we endeavour to offer patient centred care and experience.
