"Being called in the Emergency room"

About: Causeway Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

9 hours of waiting in the waiting room they moved you to. Then they call you asking where you are because they called you 5 times but from the first place they moved you from. One big mess.

Hello bluesm63

My name is Victoria McCrory and I am the Assistant Clinical Services Manager for Causeway ED. I am very sorry to hear of the experience which you have described. ED has been under significant pressure this week, and when there are a high volume of patients in the department, it can be challenging to keep track of every patient and where they are in the department. We do have an ED tracker to assist us with this, but unfortunately on the very odd occasion a patient can be in a different area to where we have them tracked to.

I am sorry that this tracking issue has contributed your difficult experience. I will ensure your feedback is shared with all staff in the department for learning, and I hope should you have to attend ED again that you have a more positive experience.

Yours Sincerely

Victoria McCrory
