"She was kind, cheerful, pleasant and thorough"

About: Community Services - (OPMH) / Older People's Mental Health Central

(as a carer),

It took me 18 months to get my husband to go to the doctors. From there he was referred to Tickhill Hospital.

Joanne came to see us at home, she explained her role and how she could help my husband. She was kind, cheerful, pleasant and thorough in all the tests she did. Explained each test carefully to us. The result was my husband has mixed dementia.

The first trial of medication did some help but not with his anxiety and mood swings. He went on to a different medication, which I am glad to report, he is now stable, chats, smiles and sing which he wasn't doing before. He is relaxed and happy.

Joanne was fabulous help through it all, monitoring him throughout, not just my husband but myself as well. We are both in our mid 80s so our time together is precious.
Thank you so much Joanne and all the team at Tickhill hospital, our reassurance is that Joanne is just a phone call away.
Our doctors also run a care at home service with two specialist dementia nurses. The care both my husband and myself receive is very good through out.
