My GP, who I've known and been treated by for many years, escalated my issues with shoulder and knee to the 'specialist' at Ravenscroft. I was seen there by a smart young man who started the session by telling me off for having two separate appointments on the same afternoon rather than one longger appointment. This was a timetabling issue and nothing to do with me. He then told me off for having had two MRIs because they're expensive. How else were we to find out the cause of the pain? All he wanted to do was discharge me for both conditions which, strangely enough, are still ongoing and painful. For the shoulder he recommended going back to Connect Health for shock wave therapy. He kept repeating it and then shouted at me 'SAY IT!', which I did. I felt intimidated.
When I asked about the knee, as it is very stiff and I can't kneel down properly, he said to buy a camping stool and carry it with me in case I want to kneel down at any time! How preposterous. I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere as he repeated that he wanted to discharge me for both conditions. I reluctantly agreed, having told him that he was being flippant - but he didn't hear that as he was continuously talking over me.
The follow-up letter was poor - calling me both 'Mr' and 'Ms', whereas my title is 'Mrs' and erroneously said that I agreed to everything he said. I didn't, but he left me no choice.
This has left me feeling very upset and has damaged the image I have of the Ravenscroft practice as a health care provider.
