I had to visit Southport A&E yesterday and feel I need to share my experience. I was having trouble breathing and couldn't get my breath even to speak. I arrived at 12pm and the waiting room was crowded and so I set myself for a very long wait but I was coming out of the hospital all complete at 3pm. In that time I had been seen by the triage team sent for treatment to the emergency centre , had my bloods taken, Assessed by a doctor, had an xray and had a Ctr scan. I then had all my results discussed with me by the same doctor and a decision given to me of what further action I needed to take. All this done in 3 hrs I thought was amazing especially as it was so crowded and stretchers filled the corridors with patients on them. I have such admiration for all the staff there even though they were all working overstretched everyone was so attentive and caring towards me. I would like to give a special mention to the young doctor that attended to me he was a lovely man very thorough and I left the hospital feeling very confident that I was going to be ok. If I had to go privately I couldn't have been dealt with any better so a very big thank you to all the staff at Southport A&E.
"Excellent A&E visit"
