Like a pin cushion before Pauline and Colette descended.
Resurrected when they left.
My story concluded today but started two days ago!
My poor wee wife do have a problem with her veins, or rather lack of usable veins, veins for drips and/or drawing blood for tests.
The life saving benefits of a working PICC, is an Easter Miracle and makes for a happy contented patient.
If I may suggest anything, it will be to have a PICC specialist in every hospital.
The benefits, not only in patient satisfaction, but also in time saving and cold cash, will more than justify this.
No longer numerous failed stabs and an ever more stressed out patient and worried partner or family member.
No more missed antibiotics due to the lack of a working drip.
No more delays in blood tests.
No need to get nurse after nurse, sister after sister, doctor after doctor, an anaesthetist after an operation to try and try again. To wheel up Sonar work stations... to cry.
Simples, just have a "Pauline" or "Colette" in every hospital.
"The angels that fitted the PICC line"
