About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology

(as a service user),

I had to attend the department to be fitted with a 24 hour ECG machine which I was anxious about. Due to a road closure I was 15 minutes late and was extremely worried that I had missed my appointment time & wouldn’t be taken.

I was then met with a lovely friendly member of staff who immediately put me at ease and proceeded with my appointment . She explained the procedure from beginning to end. The staff members name was Sylvia & she couldn’t have been any nicer. A credit to the department & indeed the hospital.

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Hairmyres, Cardiology.

It can be a worrying time attending hospital for an appointment and I am delighted that you were immediately put at ease. I am glad that the staff were able to accommodate you, although you were late. This must have made a real difference as you were likely already worried.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the whole team, especially Sylvia, who I am sure will get a real boost in hearing it.
