"I will never have enough words to thank Joyce"

About: Maternity care / Labour suite maternity

(as the patient),

I would like to recognise the amazing work and effort Joyce went to while I was in Labour, this was my first baby and was a cardiac baby this was a very stressful time for me and my partner.

Being hooked up to a heart monitor monitoring my baby’s heart rate through my full Labour wasn’t the easiest but Joyce done everything to make sure I was as comfortable as could be, then it came to actually delivering my baby I was told pre Labour my baby would be taken straight away to intensive care and I wouldn’t even get a cuddle.

Joyce spoke me through every bit of pushing and how / when to do what and my baby was delivered safely and successfully I even managed cuddles with my baby before he was taking away in a cot. I believe I got to cuddle my newborn and not see him being rushed away all thanks to the stress free delivery Joyce made happen for my baby.

I will never have enough words to thank Joyce for this.

The aftercare was amazing and Joyce made sure I was taking straight to NICU to see my baby and left us for as long as we needed coming back and taking us to our ward, may I add with all our baggage we left in the delivery room.

Joyce made what was one of the hardest days of my life the most stress free and made that cuddle happen with my baby.

Dear February19,

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about the birth of your baby here at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Maternity Unit in Glasgow and the amazing work and effort Joyce made when looking after you in labour during such a stressful time.

It is lovely to read how Joyce ensured that you were able to cuddle your baby and spend time with them in the neonatal unit making a difficult day as stress free as possible.

I will ensure that your thanks and praise are passed on to Joyce.

Best wishes for you and your family.

Kind regards

Gaynor
