Spent a couple of hours at the joint school to explain what to expect for my forthcoming procedure for Knee replacement surgery, l think this was really helpful having had knee surgery 3 years ago and being a bit in the dark about it all.
Sian was very funny and professional and really got over the important things we needed to know to recover, and knowing that l will see familiar faces when l go in is very reassuring.
It doesn't matter how old you are going into a hospital environment is very scary and a bit intimidating, lm not saying l am now looking forward to it all but at least l am more prepared with more knowledge of what's happening.
It is useful knowing what to take in with you and what not yo take, it's reassuring to know that if you need more pain relief we can just ask for more, it felt like we are not just a number but each and everyone of us are important.
