@ Countess of Chester Hospital. Admissions Lounge- very good. Informative and re-assuring.
The operation with spinal block - excellent care.
Recovery - a nurse brought me Jaffa cakes as I wished I could have one. Beat that.
The Ortho ward and physio - good, attentive to discomfort. Then the Ortho ward shut for the weekend and I was moved to General Surgery. Happy busy ward. Made to feel comfortable & cared for and really helped to get better.
Early (before breakfast or medication) on Monday morning (today) was whisked away from the general surgery ward back to an empty Ortho ward by a couple of harassed nurses leaving a couple of personal belongings behind due to the suddenness and rush, without even a chance to say farewell to other patients.
The staff on Ortho were nice and the staff nurse who dealt with my discharge was lovely and the physios were great signing me off to come home.
My surgeon & his team were kind & considerate all the way from introduction to letting me out today.
But this morning was disconcerting and a let down after such a good experience. Also when I realised that belongings were left behind in the rush I was a bit upset.
