We are constantly berated by politicians and senior NHS officials as to how the NHS is benefitting from increased expenditure. Ha!
How about £500 to put a shelf up in a new PCT GP practice? How about a GP paid to work 4 and half days but takes a day off to work at the local hospital for which he gets paid again, leaving the practice to find a locum, who charges £1400 (pro-rata salary is £350,000 p.a.). What are the national rates for locum services? Also PCTs paying mileage for attendance at training in a contracted working week and not deducting miles used in normal work travel....whoops! this is against HM Inland revenue rules!!!!!
"Now you know where the NHS money goes!"
