"Compassionate care"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Oncology

(as the patient),

I was hospitalised because of worsening cough might be due to my cancer. I have met several doctors and nurses in A&E who are efficient and has given me the care that I need. I was transferred to Lowen Ward that mid-afternoon still being short of breath.

Distraught and I thought I’m already at my wits end- so I became detached but Nurse Crystal gave the most compassionate care I have ever received in my life. I want to give my massive thank you to Nurse Crystal for being there when it was harder to breathe. Thank you for being cheerful despite working tirelessly, for putting my mask on even if I’m asleep. I was about to let go but you never gave up on me.

I also want to extend my massive thanks to

Jacque, Dave, Lou! To all the men and women of Lowen who I forgot to mention, a massive thank you. I have a long way to go but I am thankful that I have receivrd care from all of you.
