"Staff couldn’t have been nicer"

About: Maternity care / Maternity Assesment/Triage Maternity care / Maternity care (Ward 50) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Neonatal Unit

(as a service user),

My journey started in maternity assessment when my waters broke 6 weeks early the staff were outstanding and waisted no time getting me and baby monitored I didn’t have to wait long to be seen by doctors and everything was explained really well. I was then taken to the ward but I ended up going into a really quick labour the nurses/midwife’s got me down to the labour suite really quickly. Where I was met by midwives Joanne and Amy and Doctor David I can’t thank them enough for making me feel safe and calm and helping me through a very fast and scary experience they are a credit to the NHS and made sure myself and my baby were safe, the care they gave us was outstanding.

The next part of my journey was ward 50 for one week while I recovered and every single member of staff from the midwives, student midwives, support workers, domestics all of them couldn’t have been nicer and the support I was given as my baby was in NICU I want to thank them all for everything and making my experience a nice one when going through a difficult time.

Lastly I would like to thank all the team at Neonatal for the support and care we were given. So grateful for everything, they have taught us so much about having a premature baby. We now have our baby home after a 3 week stay and adjusting to our new life.

All the staff we have met on our journey will forever stay in our hearts we can’t thank them enough.

Dear Krn87

It is so lovely to read that you are home and settling into a new way of life with your baby.

The birth of your baby earlier than expected brings huge emotion which can be stressful so it is reassuring to hear that you felt safe and supported across your journey in the hospital.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback on Care Opinion, I will share your kind words with the team on the neonatal unit

Best wishes

Dear Krn87,

Many thanks for taking the time to tell us about the birth of your baby and your care here at the QEUH maternity. Congratulations to you and your family.

It is very heart warming to read of the outstanding care you received from our staff in Maternity Triage, Ward 48, Labour Ward, Ward 50 and the Neonatal unit. I will ensure that your thanks and praise are shared with all of our team including midwives, support staff, student midwives, domestics and medical staff.

Best wishes and thank you.

Gaynor
