I note that there haven't been many reviews of St Ann's on this site. I was admitted for 6 weeks recently with a diagnosis of EUPD & Depression. It has taken me a couple of weeks to process my experience in St Ann's. Due to the nature of my condition I was reticent to trust the staff or to invest any hope in the treatment I could receive in such a ward. In time I did come to trust staff, but was discharged suddenly, with no Care Plan. With hindsight I can see that in-patient admission was not beneficial for me personally, but I wish I, and my next of kin, had been kept informed of the consultant's decision to discharge me with no warning. There were a few staff whom I feel should be highly commended, and though I don't believe in "attention seeking", if a patient is sobbing in their bed-space I don't think they should be left because they are too shy to ask for help, or because another patient is shouting and swearing. Please accept this attempt to communicate my experience at St Ann's as feedback not criticism, as I feel the ward staff did the best they could do with what they had available, but having no information of my diagnosis, previous medication/treatment in another city they could not possibly have known how to treat me. Thank you
