I attended A& E with severe abdominal pain.
I was taken after 5 minutes and was taken through to see a nurse. I was triaged, assessed by a dr then a specialist and was transferred to a ward all within 2 and a half hours.
When I arrived on the ward, the staff were respectful, very supportive and assisted me into my room. I had numerous trips by the porters for tests etc. and they were all cheery and chatty. I became unwell with one of the porters he was very calm and returned me to the ward immediately and waited for a while to see if I was ok.
I really felt that I was in safe hands and been well looked after. Nothing was too much for the staff and it would be unfair to list them as I might forget one.
One thing that really struck me was the attention to detail and thoughtfulness. I had to get bloods etc at 6am. The nurse always had a cup of tea for me when she came. I told her on admission that I only took milk and she remembered.
I spent the last 5 days in FVRH and to be honest I couldnt have been treated better. I was upset and the domestic held my hand and helped me through a difficult time. I felt obliged to write this to thank all the nurses, domestics, doctors and porters that made a difficult few days easier to manage.
I am now at home recuperating and resting. Thank You once again Ward 6, 8 and CPAU- you should be very proud of yourselves.
"Excellent and compassionate care."
