My husband went to see our doctor who has known us both for a very long time with very bad pains he sent us to ward 31 clinical decision unit, which we think should be renamed the clinical disaster unit because it was crazy! People every where phones ringing constantly and no feeling of calmness just craziness. We were met by a young man with a fancy title of nurse practitioner who told my husband that he thought his pain was nothing to worry about and he didn't really need to come into hospital, a little respect would have been appreciated us old folk are going to always worry about unexplained pains. He sat us in the room and that was the last he spoke to us he spent all of his time talking to two pretty young girls, now I know my husband isn't young or pretty (he never was) but he was in a great deal of pain and being in that room was becoming very irritable at his pain being trivialised, but eventually he was seen by a very caring and understanding doctor who clearly took his pain serious and made him stay in hospital for more testing. The ward and staff were outstanding but unfortunately first impressions do count and the clinical disaster unit let you down.
