After being sent by my GP to hospital I was admitted to Castle ward for a nights stay and then was transferred to Clapham ward where I stayed for 9 nights. From the moment I was taken to Clapham ward I was put at ease and reassured by the fantastic staff, From the cleaning staff to the nurses every single member of staff were extremely friendly and caring throughout my stay and I couldn't be more grateful for the care I received. I felt that patients were listened to and despite the ward being busy staff always made time and ensured patients were listened to and any questions, concerns or problems I had I felt were taken seriously and dealt with and resolved very efficiently. I also felt that all care staff very quickly were aware of patients individuals needs and preferences and adapted this for every patient which again put me at ease and made my stay as comfortable as possible, I may have spent a lot of my time in hospital moaning to staff that I wanted to go home but I also couldn't be more grateful to have received such fantastic care Thank you very much Clapham ward- a real credit to the NHS. The only negative comment I have is that for the last 3 days of my stay I reported to cleaning staff that there was no soap in the bathroom/toilet however this was never sorted and when part of the ward was in isolation due to sickness this could have played a contributing factor to the problem,
"Thankyou Clapham Ward"
