My husband collapsed and was taken to East Surrey hospital, where in intensive care treatment he was given excellent treatment, was then removed to a ward as he was all set to go onto rehabiliation treatment at Chichester he was making a really good recovery but then taken to the ward after a few days I walked in only to find him stinking and uncomfortable covered in excrement he stank. My Bob was such a proud person, although he could not talk to me he knew what a mess he was laying in and was trying to get out of the bed,I still have nightmares about it,you would not leave a dog in that mess.My friend went outside to the nurses station to ask if someone could come and help Bob and was told in a minute, how dis gusting, there were approx five nurses talking at the nurses station at the time,no one on the ward,No empathy shown.Yes I have had an apology for the care and attention of my husband,he died later after doing so well but what good is an apology?i now have to live a life without him and flashes of the embarrasment he would have suffered,he was also dhydrated, graping the sponge for his teeth and sucking on it hard.He was a lovely man hard working paid all his taxes and NI insurance, had nothing at all for it was treated worse than an animal and I am left and our family with all the horrific memories of his care and treat ment in your hospital. In my mind you deserve No stars at all and I would love to one day meet these so called nurses with no empathy to see how they would like to see one of their loved ones go through what Bob went through.Saying Sorry is just not enough.
