"DRI - ITU - Great care - but a long time getting discharge medications"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I arrived at the hospital by ambulance, a 999 call. I arrived at A&E as an emergency. I was having a stoke and a heart attack at the same time. My blood pressure was sky high, there were loads of doctors and nurses to look after me. No problems with the staff at all, they were all great.

Discharge took a long time, I was supposed to be discharged on a friday, but I didn't receive medication till 20:45 in the evening. It seemed to take more than along time to get medication. I had to arrange pick-up by family, so it was hard to plan, completely unrealistic.

I enjoyed all meals, I had only one disagreement which was with the re-heated roasted potatoes, they were like sponge.

The nursing staff were fantastic, always on time, I didn't have to ask more than twice, unless there was an emergency, I could see they were busy.
