About: Swanswell Loughborough

(as the patient),

I have a substance misuse worker for severe alcohol addiction. They listened and help me try and get the best control of the situation as I could.

I have severe mental health problems which were also always taken care of. I was treated as a whole person by my substance misuse worker, phone call duty workers and later in group situations I have been seen through and visited by my duty worker during an inpatient detox.

I am now over 100 days sober and continue to be cared for and supported by Swanswell in teaching me to live a safe and sober life.

Thank you very much in sharing your story with us. We are pleased that we have been able to help you and that you are on your road to recovery.

Your story is very inspirational and we are fortunate in being able to support you in your recovery.

We have many ways in which you can share your success such as participating in the Recovery Forum and Service User Forum. Telling your story to other service users is very powerful and engaging with others who are struggling with their substance misuse helps them to understand that they are not alone.

The next Recovery Forum is being held on Thursday 29 May 2pm at John Storer House, Wards End, Loughborough from 1.30 and you are more than welcome to come along.

If you would like to know further details on any of our groups or mutual aid please talk to your substance misuse worker.

Please feel free to continue to let us know how your recovery is progressing and everyone at Swanswell congratulate you on your recovery so far and wish you all the best for the future.
