About: Barnsley Hospital

(as the patient),

Hygiene could have been much better.

More staff on nights, 3 staff to 28 patients, most were bed bound - unacceptable.

My name is Lucy Hainsworth, and I am the Forum Support Officer for Barnsley Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in Health Forums.

The Forums are a group of volunteers set-up by the government to independently monitor the NHS and involves public opinion in decisions which are made by the NHS on a local level, these include issues such as Hospital Disabled Toilet facilities (which are now undergoing refurbishment at Barnsley Hospital) etc.

We also like to be aware of any cleanliness issues patients have.

I notice that you have commented on the hygiene at Barnsley Hospital, and wondered if you would be willing to expand on this (anonymously) to help us in this project.
