I attended the walk in centre in St Helens this morning for a self-inflicted injury that needed stitches.
Both the nurses in Triage were non-judgmental and treated me with respect.
The doctor who stitched my wound was very understanding, concerned for not only my physical welfare but my emotional state too and ensured I had support from mental health services.
I have attended the walk in centre at St Helens a number of times, both for myself (with self inflicted injuries) and friends (also with self-inflicted injuries) and have never had a bad experience with any of the staff.
For this I am very grateful - your response to people who self-injure is very much appreciated and I want others to know they can come and be treated without fear of being ridiculed or judged.
Well done to all staff and huge thanks to the dr who treated me this morning :)
