My daughter was recently admitted to Paddington Ward (9 Feb 2007) with suspected meningitis. Whilst the Doctor and Nursing care she recieved was excellent the following was unacceptable:
1. the adult toilet was at times unusable...
2 The levels of cleanliness in her room was poor, and when a cleaner did come in the sink was not touched and the floore was "licked over" with a smelly floor mop that meant we had to have the window open to get rid of the smell. The edges of the room were not touched and a tissue that was in the corner of the room when we arrived remained.
3. The food was "kiddy" food. My daughter is 13 and does not eat chicken nuggets, burgers, sausages, mash, etc, neither are these things to get them well...little nutrional value, high salt and fat..
I would like to make an offical complaint regarding the level of cleanliness - how do I go about this? I myself am 7 months pregnant, using the toilet on the ward was impossible, and having to stay with her at night meant I was having to wait until I got home to wash etc?? DISGUSTING!
