What I liked
I was only in hospital on this occasion for a hernia operation but as it was a full abdominal I was kept in ward 12 overnight. Once a bed had been allocated I was kept informed about the procedures and times. Before and after the operation nurses and doctors were helpful and cheerful and I always felt comfortable about being there.
What could be improved
Getting information about bed allocation for ward 12 was a little difficult and we were left not knowing what was happening for several hours. A quick update now and then would help but at the same time it is realised that there may have been nothing to say to us. An indication that we were not forgotten would help.
Anything else?
I am grateful to the surgeons and nursing staff who were involved in the operation which has left little scarring. I am special grateful to the anaesthetist who made me feel so comfortable before and during the preparation.
