Recently went for a blood test at the Belper clinic morning walk in service, it was very busy and the nurses were getting through people as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately in their haste to get my blood test done quickly a nurse went straight through a couple of veins in my left arm and thus left a huge bruise from half way down my forearm to the right side of my left bicep, also covering the underside of my elbow.
I did after a few days go to A&E to get this checked due to the continued pain, the A&E nurse said she'd never seen anything like it and the needle must have gone through 'at least' 2 veins! Although I know these things can happen I do feel that, given how busy the clinic was contributed to what happened and the service should be looked at to give the nurses more time to take extra care with patients, its also worth noting that I am a regular blood donor and have never once had an issue giving blood/bruising (so I know that I am not a person who it is hard to get blood from).
