Our son underwent surgery on both his eyes in July 2014 to correct a squint. We were nervous, afraid and unsure what to expect but from the moment we arrived we were put at ease. The ward is spotlessly clean, bright and welcoming with lots of fun things to do.We were shown to his bed and within minutes we had met a very friendly nurse who explained the "special cream" to our son, the Ward Sister took care of the necessary paperwork and she explained each step clearly and professionally. We then met the "sleepy Doctor" who was extremely friendly and had a joke with our son, he spoke directly to our son as well as to us, explaining what would happen. We then met teh consultant surgeon and two of his team before his operation took place. We can say unreservedly that the kindness and positive attitude of every member of staff we encountered was of the highest standard. We felt reassured every step of the way and confident that our son was being cared for at every stage. It made a difficult and worrying time a whole lot easier to deal with.Thank you.
