Dear Eczema sufferers, Having a recent flare up of eczema I turned to Kingston Hospital's dermatology department and to my shock they had a Dermatologist who does not believe in diet induced eczema. He prescribed me continuous oral steroids and refused to discuss or help me understand alternative treatments to diagnose the causes which I believe are diet related. His sole solution to offer me was a lifetime on oral steroids and creams knowing full well the side effects are unacceptable to most women eg bone density degradation. I now have been referred to a proper Hospital - Chelsea an Westminster Dermatology which do believe in diet related eczema and quickly got me tested for food to avoid. They are also now putting me on photo light therapy which is making an impact. I cannot believe that the 'latest' thinking in the NHS by 'some' is to deny access to other treatments by stating the non-belief of diet related eczema. Shame on Kingston Hospital's dermatology department! Don't both wasting your NHS Choice and pick any hospital except Kingston. You are a waste of my tax money!
