"Poor care after a fall in Newcastle"

About: Campus for Ageing and Vitality

(as the patient),

After a recent accident i was taken to the casualty department at Newcastle General Hospital....the standard of care i received was appalling.

While i fully appreciate that staff are busy etc , a little kindness / compassion goes a long way - especially if you are in pain, scared and upset! Due to the accident my clothing had to be cut, i was also in shock....at no point was i offered a blanket or covering.

The vent in my hand wasn't fitted properly - everytime the staff tried to inject Morphine, it sprayed all over me...in effect i was left for over 3 hours with a displaced fracture and little / no pain relief.
