Recently I received the results of a biopsy from Broadgreen Hospital Dermatology, showing a BCC. I was told surgery would be needed and the operation would take place at Whiston Hospital. They explained a bit about what to expect and that the date of surgery would be sent to me shortly. I received a letter from St Helens Hospital with a date to attend the surgery.
On the morning of the surgery due in the afternoon, I phoned to get some more information about what to expect. I was then notified that the surgery would not be done that day but I still had to come through to St Helens Hospital for an appointment. I did so and saw a registrar briefly and was told my name would be added to the waiting list. I mentioned that I was expecting to have the surgery that day from what I had understood from Broadgreen Hospital Dermatology. The registrar said that I am not the only one that has raised this issue before.
