My husband was sent on a Friday in mid October by his GP to Ward 20 with a suspected DVT. All the staff on this ward were brilliant Receptionists, Nurses, Doctors, and Consultant. Treatment was started straight away whilst waiting for blood results which would take a couple of hours. During that time the various treatment options were explained to us. While waiting we were offered tea, coffee and sandwiches. We left at about 9pm with injections to be self administered plus antibiotics. We were given an appointment for Monday to check how things were going together with an appointment for a scan on Tues.
My husband was due to be admitted to hospital for a planned procedure on the this wee at Solihull Urology. We were not sure if this would now go ahead. A visit to Shareen Actar Patient Booking Co-Ordinator for Urology at Heartlands who in the space of 2 days arranged a Consultation with Mr Wadhwa a new Consultant in Urology who was brilliant. Hope the Trust get to keep him. Operation is now postponed but the reasons were again explained to us in full. Another visit to Ward 20 last Thursday once again Dr Maulijk Consultant Dr Yaoub and their staff were wonderful. A lot of bad press is given to our NHS but our experience this week has been excellent.
