"WARD 40"

About: University Hospital Of North Tees

my Uncle was admitted to this ward a couple of weeks ago for a bleed on the brain , everytime I went he was laying in wet PJs as he couldn't go to the toilet on his own and he couldn't walk without falling over , I took 4 pairs of PJs one day, the next day they were all in a bag wet, my uncle and all the rest in the room he was in was very cold one evening , we asked for another blanket and was told sorry we don't have any another lady asked for another pillow for her husband and was told , sorry we have non , pressing a button to alert the nursing staff of a problem wasn't answered within 15 mins when I was there and one point I had to go and find someone to help my uncle urinate , hes at James Cook now and I was told he will be going back to North Tees , over my dead body he will , disgusting place

We are very concerned to hear about your uncle's experience and that standards of care were not what would be expected. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns. Please get it touch with ward matron Denise Thompson on 01642 382940 who will be happy to discuss your concerns.
