"Faith in medical profession restored"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Since a plastic mesh tape (TVT-O) device eroded into my urethra and had to be removed I have suffered severe nerve damage, pelvic pain and persistent urinary tract infections. After researching my options I asked to be referred from another Health Board to mesh expert urogynaecologist Dr Wael Agur.

This was 18 months ago and although my situation is ongoing, he has restored my faith in the medical profession. He listens to patients, is sympathetic and explains all alternatives available in layman’s terms. From the reception staff to the nurses (Jackie in particular) in the MacDonald Suite, Lister Centre, everyone is friendly and interested - nothing is too much trouble for them.

Grateful thanks.

Dear Cagney

We, the staff at MacDonald’s Suite, Crosshouse Hospital, were most delighted with your post. The Team takes pride in helping patients who suffered adverse events following mesh surgery and glad your faith in the health service was restored. Thank you for taking the time to give us such positive feedback. It made our day.

Regards
