I'm under the endocrinology department and had my regular six month review this week. I spend some time with a research nurse and then see my consultant.
It never feels rushed, and there's always plenty of encouragement to talk about all the things that are affecting you. I mentioned a couple of things to the research nurse and when she took me through to the consultant she flagged up with him that she'd told me to ask him about them.
I get to have contact with a lot of different departments and services in the NHS, and other than my very-good GP, endocrinology always feels like the place where I am seen as a whole person with a life as well as symptoms. I couldn't be more grateful.
