"Some nursing staff were excellent and others were not"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Ear, Nose & Throat (Ward 9)

Immersive Reader

Some staff (especially nursing )were excellent taking care and delivering a good caring and supportive service however other nursing staff should not be working in healthcare involving patient care.

This dereliction of duty of care ranged from not acting on specific patient requests, not giving a drink with medication, leaving medication for patients who were not able to take it unaided AND not treating patients with respect in their care i feel. I Witnessed this with my own eyes- really very disturbing for the "Caring Profession"

Dear Concerned Relative

Thank you for taking the time to post your observations and for your kind comments regarding the care delivered by some of the nursing staff.

However I am very disappointed to read your observations where care undoubtedly has not been to the standard I would expect from a ward in Monklands, as you have intimated Care, Compassion and treating patients with respect are the foundations of nursing care.

I will discuss your observations with the Senior Charge Nurse and Senior Nurse, who will work together to address the differences in care you witnessed.

If you would like to discuss matter this further please contact the Patient Affairs Manager on 01236 713065.

Kind regards

Ruth
